There are lots of ways to play New Mexico Pick 4 Plus. It is one of the games major attractions, as you can develop a strategy to suit the way that you want to play. All of the different play types are described below.
A Straight is a wager that the numbers you pick will be drawn in that exact order. This play type is the hardest to win but has the biggest payout.
So-called because your numbers are metaphorically 'boxed up' and not in any order. You win if those four digits are drawn - their positions are not important.
Half of your $1 goes on a Straight and half on a Box. If your numbers are drawn in exact order, you win both parts of the prize. Any other order and you just win the Box part of the wager.
Every combination of your numbers is entered as a separate Straight. This means you can still win the same prize as a Straight, while you also have the same good odds as a Box. The trade-off is that you have to pay for each combination, so the cost is between $4 and $24.
You can also select a Front Pair, Middle Pair or Back Pair. For any of these wagers, you are just trying to match two of the four numbers in exact order - the first two numbers (Front Pair), the second and third digits (Middle Pair), or the last two numbers (Back Pair). Pair wagers can be played on their own or as an add-on to another play type for an extra $1.
If you play a Box, Straight/Box or Combo, you'll need to consider how many 'ways' you play. This relates to how many of the same number you play, as it directly impacts on the odds of winning and the prize you are playing for. For Combo plays, it also determines the cost of your wager as you have to pay for each separate combination of numbers.
The table below outlines the differences between 4-Way, 6-Way, 12-ay and 24-Way plays. You can also use the generator to enter any four-digit number and play type. It will give you all the winning combinations.
